  2.                    An Introductory Guide To TeleNet Commands
  3.

  5.      I don't know how many of you use TeleNet to call this system (or other
  6. systems) but I thought this might come in handy for those that do.
  7.  
  8.      Some basic info about TeleNet commands.  To enter a TeleNet you must be at
  9. the TeleNet prompt "@".  You can get there two ways:
  10.  
  11. 1)  When you first dial TeleNet you will be at the prompt
  12. 2)  When connected to a system via TeleNet you can return to TeleNet
  13.     command mode by typing "<CR>@<CR>" (See note A.)
  14.  
  15.      Once you get to the prompt here are some of the commands available to you
  16. and a brief description of what they do.

  18.  Command           Function
  19. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.  C xxxxxxx<CR>     Connects you to a specific host or terminal.
  21.  
  22.  STAT<CR>          Display network port address.
  23.  
  24.  FULL<CR>          Set full duplex
  25.  
  26.  HALF<CR>          Set half duplex
  27.  
  28.  DTAPE<CR>         Prepares the network for bulk file transfers.
  29.  
  30.  CONT<CR>          Return to transfer mode from command mode.
  31.  
  32.  BYE<CR> or D<CR>  Disconnects you from the currently connected host.
  33.  
  34.  HANGUP<CR>        Tells TeleNet to hang up the phone....
  35.  
  36.  TERM xx<CR>       Changes your terminal type.  xx can be one of the
  37.                    following:
  38.                              D1  =  CRT's and Personal Computers
  39.                              B3  =  Bi-directional printers
  40.                              A2  =  Uni-directional printers
  41.                              A5  =  Slow printing terminal which
  42.                                     loses data on the left side
  43.                                     at another setting.
  44.                              A9  =  same as A5
  45.                             <CR> =  Unknown
  46.  
  47.  MAIL or           Requests connection to Telemail.
  48.  TELEMAIL<CR>
  49.  
  50.  TEST CHAR<CR>     Used to test the system if you are receiving
  51.                    garbled output.  Use this and look for garbled
  52.                    characters or patern breaks.  If you do try
  53.                    adjusting your parity or contact TeleNet.
  54.  
  55.  TEST ECHO<CR>     If you feel your input to the system is being
  56.                    garbled by your parity or contact TeleNet.
